Feb. 2011

This past week has been filled with emotional goodbyes. We saw all of our September students off at airport runs. They have all gone on home to their families and lives to continue on in what God has called them to do, but I was able to be apart of the new school in some ways this week as well.

After a few days of debrief with the staff, which involved reading evaluations that the students wrote about us (talk about nerve wracking) and talking to the leadership team about things we did good at and things that we can improve in, I was able to help out with Oz-Quest. If you have been following this blog for long you will know that Oz-Quest is something that I ABSOLUTELY dread and can't wait to be over, but this time I was on the other side of things. I helped think up new ways to test these students and push them to their limits, but I was also in charge of being the good cop. At the end of the three day adventure I provided them a surprise meal of hamburgers, potato salad (thank you grandmother for teaching me to only eat the best) and of course ALOT of sugar.

This new school is VERY international. Only one American, who is from Mississippi so I'm OK with that. One Canadian, a Brazilian, a Korean, a German, an Irishman, an Englishman and 4 Australians. I am very excited to be able to get to know them this next few months and see them be sent off on home as well.
