OH the journey that I take to be here... in the COLD! The flights back to Aussie were definitely long and hard, but it gave me a chance to look back on the past couple months that I have been at home. The time that I was able to spend with my family and friends. I was even in the newspaper (you can find that link at the bottom of this blog). But I still hate airport and airplanes. They make you sit, stand, eat, sleep, laugh and cry right up next to someone that you don't even know. I swear, whether standing in line at customs, waiting for your baggage at baggage claim, or lets not forget the 15 hours on the plane, when all you can think about is that last hug that you gave your dad, and why you didn't let it last for just a second longer, but I'm getting off topic. What I was trying to say was that I go through all that to be here, where I can't even enjoy the weather right now. haha. In the end its all worth it.
To welcome my return Cassie, my new roommate (congrats Sarah on the marriage :]) and former student took me into surfers to have kebabs for lunch that I bought with the one hundred dollars I got from the airport for loosing my bags.. did I forget to mention that? They were also having a street festival that was fun to watch for a little while. I can already tell that I'm going to enjoy my time here this year with a new kind of understanding about the culture and the people. I can't wait to get back to work here in the office, but for now all I want is to go to sleep and get all of my stuff unpacked.
God Bless and remember to keep up with me this year as I start staffing a new school and learn more about this thing we call life.
