Staff Retreat

So recently our lovely leadership team treated us staff to a much needed weekend away in the mountains. Go figure, Australia has mountains. And they are GORGEOUS! During the staff retreat there were many opportunities to bond and hang out with each other, or go off on our own to walk the trails around the lake, go fishing, and even play mini-golf. What I most enjoyed was the peace and quiet that I got to spend with God.
Lately one of my FAVORITE ways to have quiet times has been to pick up my journal and write to Him how I'm feeling, and what my goals and aspirations are. I know it sounds corny, but try getting up at 5am and articulate how you feel. I was able to bond with my fellow staff members over the weekend, but I got to know myself that much more.
It was a great weekend to get a heart for the students that will be here so soon! have been so excited for a new group of young people to come in and totally experience God in a way that they never have before.

While the weekend was productive and purposeful, it was also extremely relaxing and fun. I even won a bet! I was told I couldn't do something, and of course I HAD to prove them wrong. I was told that I couldn't get in the 15 degree Celsius water and stay there for 5 minutes. Oh yeah... Well I did it, and I won a coffee.. haha. All of the staff came out to enjoy my coldness, and boy was it cold. I wouldn't recommend it haha, but I won that coffee!
